Agenda & Proceedings

1. Meeting called to order:

  • review and adopt agenda

2. Roll Call:

3. Status Review and Discussion:

  • Bart introduces himself
    • looking to participating in the project and possibly contributing to "ontology mapping" work
  • Urgent issues:
    • ...
  • Outstanding Issue review/update: (from last call)

Suggested topics to be covered:

  • Other Progress updates and Discussions:
  • OOR-related-project status updates:
  • Funding and proposals
    • Ken: just checked, still no status on our NSF proposal yet ... NSF may be reconsidering some "rejected" proposal again
    • Kate: the whitehouse are potentially bringing in http://www.data.gov - ref. article on Wired:
  • short term activity and action plans
  • OOR sandbox instance - status review - http://oor-01.cim3.net
    • Mike: who is getting the "feedback" from oor-01
      • Peter: don't know ... nice to bring this up on the [oor-dev] list (the Stanford folks could probably tell us, or set something up) ... maybe nice to setup new listservs to capture and archive them openly.
    • Mike: suggest others to load some experimental ontologies for testing
    • for the "sandbox OOR instance", we will not limit submitters to be authors (although it would be nice)
    • Peter: by the time we have the "production OOR instance" we probably need submission policies and, at least, rudimentary gatekeeping policies (as discussed at OntologySummit2008)
    • Kate: consider using Trac with the OOR instance
      • tracking both the repository and its content
      • Ken: we use Trac too (it's a wiki-based issue tracker and built on top of a subversion repository)
      • Mike: the BioPortal may be using the gforge bug tracker
    • Todd: still working on reverse engineering the BioPortal architecture - using "Enterprise Architect"
      • K: consider "Semantic Architect"

4. New Issues:

  • Mike: suggest we add a session for Michael Grüninger (and his students) to present their work plans ... as soon as they are ready for it.

5. Any Other Business:

6. Action items:

  • K will contact Steve Ray regarding participation on his 3/26 panel
  • our short-term plan:
    • tasks
    • deliverables
    • Timeline / Milestones:

7. Schedule Next Meeting & Adjourn:

  • Next Meeting:
    • next meeting will be on Thu 2009.04.03 - 1.0 Hr. starting 9:00am PST / 12:00pm EST / 6:00pm CET / 17:00 UTC
