Further to the discussion at our May-9 call and subsequent announcement, breakout subgroups will report back on their discussions/recommendations in the following four major areas:
  • Resource & Funding - Ken Baclawski
    • crucial we get something institutionalized
    • the new grant cycle is here and deadlines are coming by
    • sustainability and the thoughts about an endowment - we need a fundraising champion with the right expertise
      • recognizing this as a gap is helpful
    • Ken: suggest we start a list of research areas the OOR project need, so people can get ideas and know who is planning to do what
  • Use Cases & Requirements - K_Goodier with Ravi Sharma, Peter P. Yim, Todd Schneider & Frank Alvidrez
    • Peter / Ken: Ontolog starting a mini-series called "Emerging Ontolog Work Product Showcase" mini-series
      • the first session of the series will be on Thu 2008.09.25
    • we probably want to encourage OOR members to participate in that series, and also target all presenters at the series to be early adopters of OOR
