Georg Schneider

Georg Ferdinand Schneider joined Schaeffler Technologies in January 2020 in the Data Architecture & Engineering Group and works on topics related to enterprise wide knowledge integration using semantic technologies. His main research interests include data-driven engineering of cyber-physical systems, knowledge representation techniques in the engineering domain and engineering of automation systems. He received a B.Sc., M.Sc. & M.Sc. in mechanical, energy engineering and economics from RWTH Aachen University/ Germany and a PhD from faculty of mechanical engineering Karlsruhe Institute of Technology/ Germany. He is proficient in ontology-based knowledge engineering and representation using linked data and semantic web technologies. His research interest include in addition the digital transformation of building and industrial automation industries. He has proven experience in modelling and simulation of complex technical systems using Modelica modelling language as well as a sound understanding of the scientific method with over 15 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications. He is part of the scientific committee at international workshops and conferences (LDAC, FOMI). Member of the VDI and IEEE. Since September 2019 he is Co-Chair of the W3C Linked Building Data Community Group.
