Discussion     (2D)

[12:17] DrRaviSharma: keyword - semantic networks     (2D1)

[12:17] DrRaviSharma: Janet to correct the words if needed     (2D2)

[12:17] DrRaviSharma: Welcome Janet     (2D3)

[12:17] DrRaviSharma: doug welcome     (2D4)

[12:20] gary: Suggestion for last line of Abstract The purpose of this Communique is to leverage and summarize our understanding from the Summit in order to foster...."     (2D5)

[12:22] DrRaviSharma: aspirational potential www     (2D6)

[12:23] DrRaviSharma: relates to word scale     (2D7)

[12:24] Douglas R. Miles: Thank you Ravi     (2D8)

[12:26] DrRaviSharma: janet recalled John+ 1 speaker and table on history Gary Table Improvement     (2D9)

[12:33] gary: John's section called "Knowledge Graphs Past, Present, and Future"     (2D11)

[12:36] gary: I see a fair amount of this material in John's Feb presentation too -     (2D12)

[12:40] Ram D.Sriram: Marvin Minsky said that focused islands of knowledge connected will lead to general intelligence. The key here is build knowledge graphs in specific domains and not worry about general common sense knowledge. We should probably capture this somewhere in the document.     (2D21)

[12:41] Ram D.Sriram: Ref for Marvin Minsky: Society of Mind     (2D22)

[12:46] DrRaviSharma: I support the tabular form of Gary or the summarized history in the communique. We can rewrite a paragraph or two     (2D23)

[13:00] janet singer: The other whence session was Chaitanya Baru on OKN and the convergence accelerator, which could be seen as a very recent history view of how we got to KG focus     (2D24)

[13:02] DaveWhitten: Did anyone hear my questions on the video call?     (2D25)

[13:04] janet singer: @Dave: No, couldn't hear     (2D26)

[13:04] DaveWhitten: Ram has pointed out the non-mention of Terminologies in the picture, and I think there is also a non-mention of controlled vocabulary. In that case, I would like to have the "Taxonomies Ontologies" label should be "Structure" or "Structured Data".     (2D27)

[13:06] DaveWhitten: Ok. What is the current download location of the Communique ? My copy is months old.     (2D28)

[13:08] DaveWhitten: Would it better to add more citations ?     (2D29)

[13:09] DaveWhitten: I don't know if KGs are already tied to existing structures like http://schema.org or SNOMED CT etc.     (2D30)

[13:10] DaveWhitten: I agree with @ToddSchneider. Talking about KGs only in term of their own references is not as effective for people with existing systems.     (2D31)

[13:11] DrRaviSharma: Just as many organizations have transformed to Enterprise level, similarly scaling existing systems to support future KGs requires a considerable effort.     (2D32)

[13:11] DaveWhitten: @Ravi that is nice but feels like you haven't said enough.     (2D33)

[13:12] DrRaviSharma: this relates to additional point 4 for future section     (2D34)

[13:12] DaveWhitten: "general acceptance of an effective definition of knowledge graph may be depended on commercial support or standardization efforts"     (2D35)

[13:13] DaveWhitten: @Ravi. I am listening. I think you didn't bring up existing Enterprise Data Models, UML, etc.     (2D36)

[13:14] DaveWhitten: @Todd added: Expand 2 to mention more tools to develop KGs. Editing, verifying, etc.     (2D37)

[13:14] DaveWhitten: @Todd - also bring up DevOps issues with your write-up.     (2D38)

[13:14] DaveWhitten: "We hazard a guess...     (2D39)

[13:15] DrRaviSharma: David has a point, we should imply including them     (2D40)

[13:15] DaveWhitten: Janet says 8 gives us a chance to put a stake in the ground.     (2D41)

[13:15] DrRaviSharma: thanks Todd     (2D42)

[13:15] DaveWhitten: @Todd mentioned the Future is being implemented today.     (2D43)

[13:17] janet singer: Propose some possibilities for the future development of KG could be strengthened/sharpened     (2D44)

[13:17] DaveWhitten: the phrase "Stay Negative" is cute.     (2D45)

[13:17] Cas Miles: Thank you all! @Ken HA!     (2D46)
