The Mission of Ontolog (a.k.a. the "Ontolog Forum")     (1)

  • Ontolog is an open, international, virtual community of practice:     (1A)
    • To discuss practical issues and strategies associated with the development and application of both formal and informal ontologies.     (1A1)
    • To identify ontological engineering approaches that might be applied to standardization efforts.     (1A2)
    • To strive to advance the field of ontological engineering and semantic technologies, and to help move them into mainstream applications.     (1A3)
    • To advance interoperability of systems through the use of ontologies.     (1A4)
    • To encourage interoperability among ontologies themselves.     (1A5)
