Gilles Kassel

Gilles Kassel (1959) studied in Paris. In 1986, he obtained a Ph.D in artificial intelligence at the Université d'Orsay (Paris 11) and in 1995, he obtained an HdR also in artificial intelligence at the Université de Paris Dauphine

Recent ontological activities

• My research is in applied ontology, at the crossroads between philosophical ontology and the representation of knowledge in artificial intelligence.
• I promote a kind of ontology called ‘epistemic ontologies’, whose categories represent objects of mental representations referring to the world.
