Hai Doan-Nguyen

I got a PhD in Computer Science from Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France in 1998. I was a Lecturer at the Polytechnique University of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. I also did my research in University of Geneva, Universite du Quebec a Montreal (UQAM) and Concordia Univeristy. Currently I'm working for a startup company in Montreal.

My main domain is NLP and AI, in particular machine translation, NLU, parsing, parsing inspired by psycholinguistics, acquiring and synthesizing dictionary resources, mining ontology and semantic networks from dictionaries, Question-Answering and conversational systems, ontology-based search, common sense knowledge-based chatbots, etc. Thus much of my research interest is related to collecting, building and using ontology for common sense knowledge.
