Dr. Fergerson is the Project Director for the National Center for Biomedical Ontology (NCBO). He was previously the lead developer of the java-based, open source Protégé ontology editor and knowledge-base system at Stanford Medical Informatics (now Stanford Center for Biomedical Informatics Research (BMIR)).
