The number of publicly available ontologies is growing rapidly, with search engines reporting over 10,000 already. This mini-series is intended to provide a venue for the developers of major new ontologies to present their work products to the ontology community. Each session will showcase 2 or 3 important ontologies that were recently released or updated. <br />
<br />
The following are the criteria for inclusion in the showcase: <br />
<br />
* Each ontology should be either a new ontology or a major new release of an existing ontology, where "new" means in the last 6 months. <br />
* The emphasis is on the ontology rather than on the instance data (TBox rather than ABox in DL terminology) or on tools or websites that make use of the ontology. <br />
* Ontologies that are getting close to standardization are especially welcome. <br />
