== Proceedings ==
[11:59] Ken Baclawski: As a result of unexpected circumstances, the session co-chairs will not be available to run the meeting today, although they might be able to join briefly at some point. As a result, we will have a general discussion which could include topics outside the summit theme. Some potential topics:
* Any topic related to Explanation
* The face-to-face symposium
* Future of the summit

[12:06] ToddSchneider: David,

[12:06] ToddSchneider: David, what is a 'structure'?

[12:07] ToddSchneider: Is a 'structure' a continuant?

[12:12] ToddSchneider: Ken: In mathematics 'structure' is captured via the notion of 'category'.

[12:25] Ram D. Sriram: This might be of interest to you: https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2019/nsf19050/nsf19050.jsp

[12:47] Douglas R. Miles: This paper https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mGHPobHUZ_d88e87FWwPF-tZ233Xq4Oe7DWLF8fRVbU/edit# ?

[12:52] Ram D. Sriram: Suggested a special issue for the Journal of the Washington Academy of Sciences

[12:52] Douglas R. Miles: It is about writing programs in Common Logic instead of typical computer languages

[12:52] Douglas R. Miles: (That wasn't quite a paper i linked to.. but putting together a talk on the subject)

[12:54] Gary: The 737 problem is in part dumb automation.

[12:58] Douglas R. Miles: Terry see above link

[13:00] RaviSharma: ken discussed and we agreed to carryout a doodle poll to determine if face to face summit session is desirable and get commitments from F2F participants!

[13:02] RaviSharma: Ram described an NSF opportunity relating to OKN and also informed that an issue can perhaps be put together for washington journal relating to ontology.

[13:02] Ram D. Sriram1: Logging off. Have another call to attend to.

[13:03] RaviSharma: discussion covered examples like need of ontology for complex situations such as Boeing 737 Max problem (Terry).

[13:06] RaviSharma: Doug mentioned need of more than one person and role of AI HCI etc for understanding the whole system and its error free certification

[13:08] ToddSchneider: Have to go.

[13:11] TerryLongstreth: The Washington Academy of Sciences has a peer-reviewed journal. Ram and I are members of the Board of Managers of the Academy. The quarterly Journal solicits papers on any scientific or engineering related topic. For submission info see https://www.washacadsci.org/journal/

[13:14] TerryLongstreth: PDDL - Planning Domain Definition Language

[13:15] TerryLongstreth: Can ontology(or ontologies as a class) be used to explain events after the fact?

[13:19] RaviSharma: Doug - what you described looked like Case Based Reasoning

[13:20] RaviSharma: Also newer CRM systems and both of these navigate based on inputs from info seeker as well as the help desk tiers that handle the info seeker!

[13:21] RaviSharma: Terry and Ram thanks for clarification

[13:22] RaviSharma: on journal
