I am a post-doc at the University of Münster, Germany, in the [http://musil.uni-muenster.de MUSIL group]. My main area of interest is the development of semantic reference systems for describing geospatial data. These are formal systems about geographic referents, such as places, events, objects and their qualities. I was visiting scholar at UCSB, working with Prof. Krzysztof Janowicz on "place reference systems", i.e., semantic reference systems for geographic places. I wrote my Ph.D. at the University of Münster on information grounding ([http://www.geographicknowledge.de/pdf/MyThesis.pdf Grounding geographic information in perceptual operations]).
I have worked in the area of spatial knowledge discovery at the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS) in Bonn, Germany. I hold a doctorate in Geoinformatics from the University of Münster and a diploma in Applied Geography from the University of Trier, Germany.

I am a post-doc at the University of Münster, Germany, in the MUSIL group. I wrote my Ph.D. at the University of Münster on information grounding (Grounding geographic information in perceptual operations).
