    • vote of thanks to the Organizing Committee: Bob Smith, Kurt Conrad and Rex Brooks for a job well done!
    • what was good about it
      • Doug: was there at the first half; thought it was very good
    • what can be improved
      • assure venue/facility suport all necessary speaker needs
      • formal ontological approaches were not as well represented as the natural and informal ontology contingent
    • what would we do differently the next time
      • consider: less formal bird-of-a-feather type gathering; or local beer-and-pretzel gatherings on a local basis
      • having to pay to attend did pose a barrier
    • discussion
      • Input from BillJarrold (2006.08.02): General feedback was it went fine. The priorities ranking discussion was a little difficult...it felt akin to asking a question like "What is more important to humans, eating fruit or eating vegetables?" Answer: they are both essential. It was good that we weren't rushed. There was a good amount of time to exchange ideas -- this is often not the case in different conferences. I really

liked the open ended session at the end where we went around and described what people were working on. That is one specific example of how more time to exchange ideas was good. Thanks, Bill / Wed, 2 Aug 2006 16:00:39 -0700 & Thu, 3 Aug 2006 11:37 -0700

      • will schedule this for some other time

      • will need to follow-up with BillMcCarthy & Anders Tell
      • Rex: there will be a joint OASIS-ITU conference in Oct. 2006 (UN/CEFACT & ebXML is related somehow)
